Large Mixer Reactor CO2 Diffuser For Aquariums Up To 500L
Key Facts
- For 1,000 - 2,000 Litres / Hour flow rate.
- Efficient CO2 diffusion.
- Traps CO2 in the reactor housing until completely diffused into the aquarium water.
- Dual impellers mix the CO2 with water.
- Compact size enables use internally or externally of the aquarium.
- Electricity is not required, since it uses the flow of water from the filter.
- Easy to clean and maintain.
- Will fit 12/16mm and 16/22mm (using spacers). Click here for tubing size advice
- Height: 33cm
- Diameter: 5.5cm
Description
The outlet is located at the bottom of the reactor chamber, and therefore only fully diffused CO2/water exits the device because the CO2 will remain at the top of the unit it is fully diffused. The result is that near 100% CO2 absorption can be achieved.
The reactor will fit 12/16mm tubing, but spacers are also included to enable fitting of 16/22mm tubing.
Instructions
- Reactors are installed on the return / outflow tubing from a filter as the water is reintroduced to the aquarium.
- Cut or replace your filter tubing with PVC tubing.
- Attach filter tubing to corresponding inlet/outlet of the reactor.
- Connect CO2 supply to CO2 inlet of the reactor.
- Turn filter and CO2 on and allow reactor to fill with water.
- Invert (turn upside down) the reactor to eject any trapped air.
- Adjust CO2 rate until desired level of dosing is achieved.

Setup was straightforward, and I didn't run into any issues with leaks or fitting. I barely see any bubbles floating around now, and it operates quietly, I can't hear a thing unless I'm super close. The twin impellers make sure every bit of CO2 gets dissolved, which means no more annoying bubbles dancing around in the tank and I love how it's hidden away in my cabinet. This is what i expected for £20, I am happy with the reactor and its a very good price but it is obvious why its cheap. I found adding an O ring to the nozzle on the inside completely prevents this, it worked for both reactors i bought. i did have to shave a very small amount of plastic off the top spinning "propeller" to prevent it getting squashed up against the O ring. I also had to shave off the mould seams on the top nozzle of the reactor to get a decent seal with the 90 degree bend. Even now its leaking ever so slightly. The seal on the bottom is a bit of a pain to get right, sometimes it seals perfectly sometimes not. I tested by covering 1 nozzle and the CO2 hole and blowing then listening for air. There really isnt much of a tail on the 90 bend for the hose to comfortably connect to. Overall im happy enough

This unit spins well and provides excellent diffusion. I don't like to see bubbles in the tank and as it doesn't produce many bubbles it does just what I want.. I hate seeing CO2 bubbles floating around the tank and this solves that by trapping the CO2 in the reactor, so I am very happy with my purchase. The impellers are pretty much silent, I can only hear it if it put my ear right up close to it. Unfortunately this items construction is inadequate. Its extremely hard to fit into a tight space whilst being able to bleed any air out. Once I did get it working correctly it was not as efficient as my current inline diffuser. I am disappointed and removed it after a days operation. We're sorry to hear you've had problem. Yes, space is required to invert the reactor in order to expel trapped air after installation, or you can temporarily detach the CO2 tube and allow the air to escape from there. Reactors are 100% efficient as the CO2 is trapped in the reactor and cannot escape. -

Biggest waste of money ever. Leaked everywhere. Propellers did not spin even running with Fluval 407. Had to then spend money to replace tubing that I had cut to fit. We are sorry to hear that, Byron. Sometimes there is a small burr of plastic that might be stopping the impellers from spinning freely, so once you file that off you should find they spin smoothly.
