Description
The advanced aquarium CO2 system combines high quality products with an affordable price tag, and contains everything needed to create a very efficient and effective CO2 system to achieve fantastic plant growth in your aquarium.
The regulator has dual pressure gauges that display the cylinder pressure and the output/working pressure, and a solenoid valve which can be plugged into a mains socket or timer plug so that CO2 deployment can be turned on and off at defined intervals (usually to coincide with when the aquarium lights are on). You can also choose to upgrade to a 12v DC solenoid (mains transformer included), which provides safe, low temperature, and guaranteed no noise operation. The needle valve allows for fine-tuning of CO2 dosing and can achieve dosing rates as low as 1 bubble / 4 seconds.
As previously mentioned, dosing is monitored by counting how many bubbles per second (or minute) are being added to the aquarium water. The bubbles are counted using a 'bubble counter' which is a device that connects to the needle valve of the regulator, and enables you to see bubbles of gas travelling through the device. A high-quality bubble counter is also included in the kit.
By default the regulator will attach to 'normal' CO2 cylinders, but you can also add a 'Easy CO2 Adapter', which enables use of readily available CO2 cylinders from high-street shops, such as SodaStream, Disposable CO2, or Paintball cylinders. The type of adapter included for this kit is the 'Advanced' model, which enable coupling to the cylinder prior to turning the knob to release the gas. This ensures the regulator, adapter and cylinder can be tightly connected and checked before releasing any gas; making it both safe and easy to install and use.
An atomizer diffuser is also provided with the CO2 system, and you can choose between 'bazooka' type which is deployed within the aquarium, or 'inline' type which is connected to your filter tubing as the water re-enters the aquarium from your filter. The atomizer diffusers provide exceptional levels of CO2 diffusion because the size of the bubbles that are emitted are incredibly small.
The drop checker included in the system changes colour to reflect CO2 levels within the aquarium. The device is permanently installed within the aquarium, and enables you to change your CO2 dose (using the needle valve and bubble counter) to achieve optimal CO2 levels. If the drop checker is blue it indicates insufficient CO2 levels; if it is yellow it indicates excessive CO2; and if it is green it indicates optimal CO2 levels.
Also included are the various accessories needed, such as Polyurethane tubing to connect the parts together, and also suction clips to ensure the tubing is neatly hidden from view.
